Stabilizer (Gold) is Released! And Why I Chose to Completely Skip a Beta

I finally made it to the end. After about 5 months the project is done. This was my first Unity game created without any tutorials or classes. I'm very proud of the work done, although it was a bumby road to get here.

First, lets get the negatives out of the way. I expected this game to be done and ready to play within VRChat by Dec 31st. Three life events interrupted my progress and focus that caused they game to be delayed at least a month behind schedule. For this reason, I decided to skip the beta. I think it is more important to wrap up something that is taking too long, than to drag something out simply to perfect it. It delays future projects and no game will ever be 100% perfect. That said there are some bugs I want to knock out and one or two quality of life features I forgot to add in. If I have time to port it to VRChat I will, but I still need to build a world to play it in. Besides that I accomplished what I set out to do.

The positives- well, I created my first original Unity game. It was a lot of fun to experiment with what I learned and apply it to my own design. I did veer a bit off the game design document I originally wrote, but I didn't bother updating it since I'm the only person on the project. Based off the simple idea of a modern Pong, Stabilizer took on the identity of a Geometry Wars meets particle accelerator themed tennis game. I chose to scope small and it worked to my advantage. I hope everyone who plays my game enjoys it!

So, without further ado, here is Stabilizer!\
