Alright, so my last personal project was a 2D pong-inspired tennis game. It was the end to a year of learning some C# and Unity. The past few months I've been busy working a contract as a junior combat designer at a mid-sized studio. I learned a lot about what it takes to be a developer- from workflow to work ethic.
I'm ready to start a personal project on a larger scale. This time I am going to put my years of experience with Unreal Engine to use. For a long time, I've always wanted to make something that was comedic as well as superhero-themed. I love the 60's Batman show starring Adam West, and how it never took itself seriously. A video game that somewhat captured those vibes was Freedom Force. I've not seen any other titles attempt to make anything like this, which I believe to be an untapped market.
Unlike what I've done in the past, this a passion project. I don't know if or when it will be done. I'm going to start by playing in the editor, and see what comes of it. I won't bother writing a game design document until I've got a solid foundation of what I want it to be.
